How To Deal With Stress At The Loss Of Your Pet

Owner

I know how it feels when you loose your dear pet! But I would like to give you some tips to cope up with that scary monster called grief! Here are some tips to hopefully help:

  • Cry. My first tip would be that please never keep your emotions within yourself. Reveal them in front of others. Cry as much as you can! If you have a busy life or have some important work to do, it may be helpful to actually schedule some down time when you can be alone and reflect.
  • Consider a memorial. This is my personal experience in the form of a tip. We love our [et so much, so why not add a memorial in his memory. What you can do is, you can plant a tree with a dedication stone beneath it. What my friend did was he bought a helium balloon, and attached a dedication note to the picture of his pet, pasted it on the balloon, took it to a peaceful location, and launched it. Try to have supportive loved ones with you. Otherwise you may feel the pressure or breakdown.
  • Take care of yourself. Please don't let yourself get trapped in the arms of grief. Take a proper care of yourself. Make sure that you have a proper sleep, have a good diet, exercise and pamper yourself a bit so that you can get away from all these things easily.
  • Please don't lock yourself inside a room or so. Make sure that you communicate with people who understand what you are going through. Going online is a perfect way to deal with stress and have a chat with all your loved ones. One more thing, find a chat room of supportive folks.
  • Don't keep his remembrances in your house. It will remind you his persona each and every day. Get rid of the toys, dishes and accessories, etc. attached with your pet.

Don't choose a new pet so soon. It is not a wise decision. You may feel that this new member of the family has to measure up to the charms and talents of the companion you've just lost. That is not done.
