Many think that Go-Karting is a male-dominated sports out there, but you would be surprised to know that slowly this trend is changing. Today, many women are also entering this field of sport. Though, the primary reasons for them to enter this field are more or less the same, that is speed, power and performance. There are many women who have created successful careers in the motor sports field. Danica Patrick, is one such known female NASCAR drivers today.

Hence, to encourage and inspire females to participate in racing go karts the United Kingdom, has set up an organization. The organization have set up races with 6 rounds in each race to be held on different tracks across the Southern UK, for aspiring female racers. The US, have also started following this trend slowly.

Beginner and intermediate classes are the two categories determined by organizers. The former category is suited for women who have just began driving go-karts. Women are also provided with go karts in these circuits to get a feel for the sport. On the other hand, the later is best suited for experienced females. These ladies are known to have their own go karts as well as a degree of driving skill and experience.

Clubs like Female karting club have been established to bring women together who are enthusiastic about racing go karts. These clubs are known to help women get into the racing scene starting with go karts and progressing all the way up to Formula One. The racers are get to know each others who are interested in racing karts through these clubs.

Though, it's important to know that racing in higher levels is impossible without the support from sponsorship. Since, daily track costs can be up to $400, this amount further extends to $2500 if you race on weekends. Besides, getting sponsorships for any female driver is very difficult. To land a sponsorship deal, women often have to do twice as much promotional work as men. Therefore, many female go karting in the hope to showcase their achievements and attract sponsors.

The field of motor sports offers many options and opportunities for women, only if she is interested in pursuing them. One of the few basic requirements are learning the sport and practicing to master it. At present, both girls and boys start go karting as early as age five and then continue developing their skills to advance higher up the levels of motor sporting.
