In this high tech world, one of the high demands are for computers. Being, a computer literate has become one of the crucial things. Today, almost everyone has a computer at home. The surge of technology and the popularity of computers, the trend is moving towards the portability and mobility. In the recent years, the demand for another type of computer has also increased - the notebook computer.

Most people get confused between laptop computers and notebook computers. As, they both look the same. However, they are a few differences between the two. Notebooks, are small, compact, mobile computers that weigh around 2-18 pounds. Notebook computers are much cheaper than laptops because less memory and features. Laptops can run on a single battery for a longer duration as compared to notebooks.

Being, lightweight and cheaper are some of the factors behind the demand for notebooks. They come in small size and fit easily in a standard sized briefcase and carried around. Display is another major difference between the personal computer and notebook computer. Notebooks use a wide array of technologies and techniques to produce display screens. These computers normally have a liquid crystal display. Though, the quality of the screen varies from notebook to notebook. However, most notebooks have a VGA resolution.

The inputs used in Notebook computers are done either through keyboard and a touchpad, also known as a trackpad. These computers can also be attached with an external keyboard or mouse. Both, laptops and notebooks are designed to perform same tasks. Even though, components in notebook computers are smaller as well as optimized for mobility and efficient use of power. Notebooks with powerful features and specifications costs a lot.
