Do you feel a bit tired or dizzy after eating a meal? You may be among those who have been affected by sugar overload syndrome or "hypoglycemia". Although, these symptoms appeared some years ago and was supposedly caused by eating too much sugar.

Usually, reactive hypoglycemia results about 2-4 hours after eating that were high in glucose. High sugar level happen when the body either can't make insulin or can't respond to insulin properly. The body needs insulin for energy. Diabetic people have glucose build up in their blood which results in hyperglycemia. A fall in the blood sugar level causes the release of glucose from the pancreas. This decline can result in release of epinephrine and corticosteroids by the adrenal glands.

Increase in sodium retention and cortisol secretion can increase blood pressure and stimulate the nervous system to speed up heart rate and blood pressure. Some of the common symptoms are shakiness, weakness, sweating, rapid heartbeat and faintness. All these health conditions indicate that the body is reacting to sugar overload syndrome.

Diabetes and syndrome x are also caused due to sugar overload in body. Some of the few risk factors of sugar overload syndrome are hypertension, kidney disease, memory loss and Alzheimer's disease.

Although, a single high blood sugar reading is not a cause for alarm as it happens to diabetic people from time to time. However, if the blood sugar level is too high then consult a doctor at the earliest – get your blood sugar level back under control. Hyperglycemia are known to damage blood vessels and increase the risk of heart disease and stroke in people with diabetics. High blood sugar level can make you feel lousy and a lot unhealthy.
