The ability to flex and give shape to a body is achieved with the help of Muscle. But, just like any other body part even they are prone to diseases. These diseases can infect anybody and make a person disable. Usually, patients with muscle diseases are in constant pain and feels weakness in the muscles. They also find it difficult to walk, sit and get up, climb, run, or move the limbs.

There are different muscle diseases, which require different types of treatment. Such diseases can result from various reasons. Though, some might reposed to medicine, while others have ‘only’ a chance of improvement. One of the main reasons are defective genes in the body. Genetic disorders can make an individual permanently disabled, physically.

Generally, genetic muscle diseases results from a parent with a history of genetic disorder. Such diseases happen spontaneously, due to gene abnormality. It may affect the eyes, cause muscle wasting and even paralysis. However, the most popular muscle disease genetically is Muscular Dystrophy, also known as muscle-wasting disease. It is mainly caused by the error in the gene. In some cases, these diseases are known to affect the heart. Results indicate that Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy commonly affects boys.

Apart from these diseases there are a few other non-genetic Muscle Diseases. Such diseases are not caused genetically and acquired gradually. These diseases are known to result from either a weak immune system, hormonal imbalance or even a disorder caused by the intake of medicines.

Inflammatory Muscle Disease is one such disease, which results from weak immune system. There are the metabolic Muscle Diseases, which may not be as common as the other Muscle Diseases. However, such diseases takes time to heal and recover. These are caused by deficiencies in the enzymes. Some of the common symptoms are weakness of the muscles, or pain in muscles.
