Classic education has one of the most rigorous curricula. It is also considered as most traditional. But, what is classical education? Well, education is said to be classical when there is an emphasis on language, usually Latin. Language is considered the foundation of liberal arts.

Classical education also focuses on the classical heritage of intellectual and artistic brilliance. Grammar, logic, and rhetoric are taught in order to develop sophistication in thought and word. Apart, training in mathematics and scientific reasoning are included in classical education.

Learning can be categorised into two different types- (1) learning to acquire a skill and (2) learning to achieve meaning. The former is knowledge-based, and its ultimate goal is performance. This type of learning is best for those people who want to learn how to perform surgery or how to invest in the stock market.

On the other hand, learning to achieve meaning is more than just performance-based. Classic education offers students with the means to develop their intellectual nature, include skills like learning how to reason and think critically.

The two types of learning are equally important. There is an obvious difference between the two. According to many people, knowledge-based learning can help people "build new roads and bridges, however, it cannot explain where we want to go."

While, learning for meaning can help people determine “where we want to go." This is true that we can't just depend on the way to get us to our end destination without learning how to determine as to what we need to meet our goal.

Over the thousands years, classic education has been the instrument for conveying meaning from generation to generation. This was the education that was taught to medieval philosophers and to the Founding Fathers of the United States of America.
