  • The Job market is really getting tough out there. More than just a killer resume, you require immense qualification and experience to show your worth to the world. In other words, you need to do more than just selling yourself on the paper. You have to sell yourself - in your one-on-one interview with the interviewer.
  • Here are some interview tips that can help you to make a great impression on the interviewer:
  • You have to advertise your skills and experience in the related field that you are planning to apply for. In other words be sure that you market them in a positive way but is should not sound too arrogant, cocky, showy or aggressive.
  • You must know all the relevant information about the company before you go for an interview. It is a very nice way to learn more about the brand and know as to where you fit into the organization. It also makes the employer aware of the fact that you really want to be a part of the organization.
  • You must go well prepared for your interview. Prepare all the answers to some of the common questions that are generally asked in an interview. This exercise will ensure that you will not get bowled out during your interview. Some of the questions that are generally asked are:

  • Tell me something about yourself?
  • What are your qualifications and what made you adopt these subjects?
  • How did you come to know about our company?
  • What is so special about you and why should we choose you for our organization?
  • The main key is to “DRESS FOR SUCCESS.” You must dress in a manner that will reflect the position that you are seeking. Never wear casuals while going for an interview. But keep the “comfort” factor in your mind as well.
  • Always keep extra resumes and passport size photographs handy. In case they demand an extra resume or a photograph and you don't have it, then this may leave a bad impression on the interviewer.
  • Make your own list of questions with you in a separate file with the organization's name on it. You may ask these questions after clearing all the rounds that will be conducted in the interview.
  • Never impose your self on the person who is taking your interview. Always be a good listener and maintain a sharp focus. Some people talk a lot during interviews but this is not a good habit.
  • If you really want the job, then be prepared to describe your strengths as well as your weaknesses. You may say that you are very enthusiastic about performing your best. This sentence will brilliantly portray your strengths as well as weakness. This means that you are over enthusiastic but this is just for the sake of the company.
  • Never loose eye contact with your interviewer. This will depict that you are confident and comfortable, while sitting in front of that person.
  • Don't force your opinions on the interviewer about any kind of subject until and unless you are asked do so.
  • The main point is to be Casual yet Professional. Don't forget to be yourself!

So guys, “ALL THE BEST” for the interview. I know that the job will be yours...
