Party Food Tips

Here are some of the cool party tips for you:

  • If you are planning to throw your party at home then it is advised that you should do all your chopping and slicing in advance. You should also store chopped veggies in plastic bags, ready for your platter. It will save you from that last minute rush.
  • Crockpots are a perfect option for keeping foods warm. If you don't have enough then you can borrow extras from your friends. You can use them for cheese dip, meatballs, or sausage links. To gain that comfort level you can make use of that quick and easy sauce for meatballs or sausages is a mixture of store-bought or homemade raspberry chipotle sauce and a small can of tomato sauce. That will save quiet a lot of time.
  • Choose foods that does not require much of the silverware. It is also advised that you should be prepared with plenty of toothpicks and napkins for those finger foods. Otherwise be prepared for your dining covers to get spoiled.
  • Have plenty of coffee and sodas ready much before you start your party. And if you are including alcohol then never let your friends drive home drunk.
  • One of my favorite football party foods is chicken wings. And if you really want to save time in your party, then you can choose a baked chicken wings recipe, make in advance, and just reheat for the party. That will not give that exact taste but will surely save a lot of time.
  • You can also steam a bag of scrubbed baby red new potatoes in their skins. Toss them in kosher salt while hot, and then allow them to cool for some time. Cut in half and scoop out centers (reserve for potato salad), leaving 1/4 inch of potato inside the skin.
  • Fill them with your favorite herbed cream cheese or sour cream, salsa, taco-seasoned chicken or ground beef, chicken salad and serve them at room temperature.

Here is one of my favorite recipes that I got from an Internet source:

Ingredients for 12:

  • 1 pack plain gelatin
  • 3 medium avocados, mashed
  • 1 tbsp fresh lemon juice
  • 1 tsp dried oregano
  • 1/2 tsp dried cumin
  • 2 cups sour cream or plain yogurt
  • 3 cup fresh cilantro leaves
  • 160-180 g cooked shrimp
  • 1 cup black olives, pitted and chopped

Crackers or tortilla wedges
1 greased 10-inch quiche pan.

How to prepare:

  • Sprinkle the gelatin in a small pan over 1/4 cup cold water
  • Let stand for 5 minutes to soften
  • Cook over medium heat just until the water is boiling and the gelatin has dissolved
  • Now mix the avocado, lemon juice, herbs and spices, sour cream, cilantro, and gelatin in a food processor Process until smooth. Now slowly pour the mixture into the prepared pan.
  • Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate until firm, about 6 hours.
  • Unmould and serve with crackers or tortilla wedges.
