Hyper Text Markup Language (HTML) is a predominant markup language meant for web pages. It helps in describing the structure of a text based information in a document with the help of some text as links, headings, lists, paragraphs and more. It also supplements the text with interactive forms, embedded images and other features. The language is written in the form of tags, and is surrounded by angle brackets.

Here are some easy steps to learn HTML language.

  • First of all, you must know that HTML reads left to right. So, under the tags first, which are placed at the beginning of whatever you want to change. In case you want to make a word bold, then put a tag at is beginning and one tag at the end.
  • Every tag you put should start with an opening and closing tag. If you don't use a closing tag specifically, then end the tag wih a slash inside it.
  • The tag is always around the text.
  • There are some codes to be used for inserting, resizing and linking images.
  • Every HTML tag starts with < and ends with >. This will tell the server that it's an HTML page. The page consist a head and a body section within the tag. With head section, you can specify the title, whereas the body section contains the content of the HTML page.

If you want to learn HTML properly, it is always better to buy a dreamweaver or a Microsoft frontpage, as it teaches all about codes. Both of them are what you see is what you get (WYSIWYG) editors and their function is similar to the word processor. At initial stage, it is easy to get started with these two softwares. If you don't want to spend money on these softwares, then free HTML editors are also available and these are very similar to Dreamweaver & microsoft Front Page.
