The Dangers of Featuring Illegal Activities on Video Websites

Every day, so many people make an online video. These videos are generally displayed on online video websites. While these videos are fun to craft and share with other people, there are a number of things that you should keep in mind.  One of those things is the use of illegal activities performed in your videos.

As mentioned earlier, online videos are most commonly displayed on video websites. Online video websites are websites that allow the consumers to have a look at those videos or upload and download their own.  In many cases, this is done free of cost. They don't charge you any money. A number of popular online video websites, like Google Video or YouTube, have have some kinds of restrictions in place. These boundaries often prohibit the user to use certain videos.  While a number of sites do have restrictions, not all do.  Even though can make a movie of whatever you want and upload it on the site, it doesn’t mean that you should do it.

It is becoming popular to document your bad online videos on the websites.  There are so many people especially school and college students, who try to impress their friends and relatives. Unfortunately, this can give way to the documentation of dangerous or illegal activities.  You may be thinking that it is harmless to post a small video that involved you and your close friends getting into a fight, vandalizing something, or using drugs or wine, there are a number of disadvantages and drawbacks, many of which you probably never even thought about.  

When showing the use of drugs, alcohol, vandalism, or anything else that is considered illegal in the Government terms, it is important to keep this thing in mind that after all, you are committing a crime.  Most police departments may not search the online video websites, but they may come across your online videos on accident. They may not arrest you, but most officers may have suspicion about you for future cases. If you enjoy participating in illegal activities, like drinking alcohol, there is a very good prospect that you will continue to participate in them.  With suspicion arose, there is a good chance that you may be being watched by those police officers.

And if you are student, may be in college or in high school, then there are chances that you could be suspended from school. Otherwise also, there have been a number of reports of school officials finding online content, including videos available on online video websites, that featured illegal activities. These activities often showed activities like consumption of alcohol, drug use, or threats against other students.  In addition to be spoken to by your local police authority, there is chances of a suspension from the  school or suspension for any school related activities, such as sports or music.

The possibility of suspension from school and talked to by your local police officers are things that could happen immediately.

Despite whatever you think about your videos, these online videos can haunt you for so many years.  Most online video websites have an option of removing your videos, if and when you choose to do so.  However, it is likely that so many users have already seen it.  Although they are not supposed , but it is also possible that your video has been redistributed throughout the web.  If illegal activities are shown in your video, then there are chances that you could be terminated from your job, especially if your video was viewed by your boss.  Also, there are a large number of individuals who use the web to research about their new applicants.  Your online video, especially if it featured the use or participation in illegal activities, could remove you from getting your dream job.

As much excitement as you may think it would be to make a video of your drinking activities, you are advised against doing so.  You never know, who will be watching your video and what kind of action will they take against yourself.
