No matter, whether it is a one day or test cricket match, cricket fans will love the game anyways! I mean to say, cricket fans just love any form of the game. However, with the introduction of Twenty20 cricket, cricket teams is required to produce action packed entertainment for the spectators. And with the much popularity of action packed games, people often think whether test match cricket will in its current form! However, the supporters of test matches believe that there is a place for test cricket alongside Twenty20.

Test cricket has always been criticized for one aspect when it ends in a draw. But, cricket lovers are not keen to care much for such result, which is often seen as a negative one. This often happens due to the weather conditions, but there are also times, when it happens because the wickets are too batsmen friendly. However, this drawbacks of test matches can be reformed with a few changes. Of course, there are a number of ways to make test cricket more exciting.

It does not look fine when a team bat for a very long period of a test match, since it slows the pace of the game down. And it is often seen that during such a match, the team in the field looks and play like they are exhausted and the cricket itself becomes uninteresting and uninspiring. Such scenarios do nothing for the sport and are not even entertaining. Cricket fans are more likely to see an even contest between batsmen and bowlers, which can deliver positive results.

In a test match, typically, the teams continue to bat until either they are bowled out or they declare. The wickets which are particularly conducive to batting prove difficulty for the bowlers to take wickets. In this concern, a rule could be introduced, where a team could bat for a maximum of 120 overs in each innings. And by limiting the total number of overs in each innings probably would eliminate negative batting in test matches. With this rule, the teams would have to score as many runs as possible in a short space of time, while the bowlers would also benefit as a new ball is due after 90 overs.

This is indeed a very simple change which could change the face if the tedious test matches. Moreover, with this rule, the batsmen will also perform more positively and score their runs at a quicker rate. Apart, it will also increase the wicket taking opportunities, when playing on those wickets which are not helpful to the bowler.
