We all know that the origin of astrology is linked with the past civilization, but how old? That is the main question. The fact is that Astrology has been a major part of many cultures going if look at the pre-historic times. But a lot of studies that deal with the origin and history of astrology are geared up with plenty of myths and complications. Which one to trust?May be it is due to the fact that astrology was used before tools were developed to see planets that cannot be seen without the naked eye. And that is why there are all kinds of confusions that are going on everywhere. Talking about the beginning, the study of Astrology made its first appearance in pre-historic times. The researchers managed to find loads of conclusions in the form of maps and charts that were found on cave walls, much the same as other cave drawings. People started confusing them with the fact that if earlier cave dwellers did not possibly have had the tools necessary to see the planets, then how did they know where they were?

Now some other things were also seen in the ancient Mesopotamia and other ancient cultures that hold a strong connection with the existence of Astrology in those parts of the world. The area was decked with some of the most extensive astrology charts but no one was able to guess it as to what these charts are all about! However, the study of astrology was likely passed to Greece as the country had a deep connection with the ancient civilizations, all thanks to the trade that happened at that time.

Astrology in Greece expanded to the form that is now quiet famous and we now recognize this particular form in the western world today. Astrology was a daily part of life in Greece, and the Roman Empire to follow. The names of the planets, the constellations, and the sun and moon signs are all named for Roman deities and other names.
